Hello and welcome! This topic is for characters who don't fit into the Warriors setting (and if you're looking to have Warriors characters rated, I do traditional rating here).
In this thread, I'll be discussing problems that occur in character writing, and I will be assisting by suggesting more useful alternatives. I'll cover every cliche in the book if I have to.
To have a character fully reviewed, I'll need to know a few things. I don't care how you format it as long as you give me a clear indicator of the following:
- Character's name (and any meaning behind it, if any)
- Race (whether it's human, or if it's something fantastical, as well as minimal information about the race such as magical capabilities, native habitat, home setting)
- Abilities (skills, and whether these are out of the norm for your character's race or social standing)
- Setting (whether this is in some sort of Middle Earth-esque area or something unique; you can list region if you'd like)
And anything else you want to mention, such as current turmoil (political, ecological, etc) or something else that might pertain to the character.
However, if you just need a simple lookover, just tell me what you need help with and I'll give it my best.
You could ask me about a number of things, as in any of the following:
- Currency (naming the currency of a world/society, designing it, or help with convertable amounts such as 10 x = 100 y)
- Race Stuff (such as social castes, celebrations/ceremonies, average height/skin color/patterns/appearance stuff, customs, myths, dressing-up in either war or casual getup, relations, etc)
- Setting History (events that help shape something or give reason to something, whether one race tried to commit genocide of another, an illness that swept the land, or whether any of this would be too ridiculous in the setting)
- Wildlife (fauna+flora, habits of prey and predators, things to be wary of in the wild, climates and what lives in them)
- Society (whether there's one race or more, and if more, how they organize things; do they have one 'government' made of mixed races, or do races hold lordship over their own provinces? how do these interact?)
- Traits / Minor Character Advice (for example, what would cause a character to do something - whether or not an action would be totally in-line with their decisions, or what kind of motivation to give a character, or how to make their home-life set up)
- Lore & Mythos (creation myth, deity figure/s, whether the deity/s had direct hand in an event or if it was purely up to interpretation/didn't happen, made up stories to explain an event such as a late winter)
And much, much more! All of this is worldbuilding, and honestly, I'd love to help worldbuild if I can. I'll offer some examples of my own 'verse, Lapiverse, and may even go ahead and dump information about it sometimes, haha. Check the next post for resources.
