“Hello there, hunbun~ My name is Sage, leader of the Rescue Team League. Welcome to our humble little paradise away from all worries, Aster Island! Home to pokemon and only pokemon, a sanctuary to all species n’ types, it’s the melting pot of harmony and peace. At least, we gotta keep it that way! That’s where you come in rookie… we need rescue teams, real heroes to keep our citizens safe and sound! That’s why I called for your help, the champions of the past are retiring and we need fresh faces, new spirits! Someone who will challenge evil and answer the call of duty! So follow me to the Rescue Team Headquarters, there is much work to be done… oh!! and not to mention, you gotta meet your new partner…”
Aster Island is…
A 6-pronged star shaped island in a calm clear sea, covered with such diverse biomes as scorching deserts to lush rainforests! There is a home for every sort of pokemon here and small bustling villages dot the shores. In the center is a tall mountain, one part volcano, another part icy peak- how this is possible no one really knows, but here the elements of nature live in balance.
Pokemon of every species populate the island, their societies joined but unique. Many live as farmers, merchants, mechanics, hunters, fishers, and other rural workers to help each other thrive. But not everything is sunny and sometimes things go wrong, that’s where the Rescue Teams come in! In Flora City (the largest village on the island) a tall tree tower is where the Rescue Team League calls home, requiting and training to-be-rescuers. Here, Sage, their shaymin leader, receives letters from all over the island requesting help and then assigns these missions to the rescuers.
A Rescue Team…
Are they prevailers over evil, the heroes of legend, the idols little children look up to, or your friendly neighborhood helpers? Not all teams are great and famous, but they can be! Everyone starts small but Sage sees great potential in you and thinks you can become one of the best! But what exactly is a team?
For starters there’s you and your partner and together you solve crimes or rescue those in need, earning you your stay on the island and progressively rising in rank. Missions include things as serious as chasing murder suspects to helping skittys out of trees. You’ll be given a mission (shown below under ‘Current Missions’) and have to think your way through it with your partner. You may not always succeed but no matter what you’ll gain experience and grow as a team! Just always remember, it’s a collaborative experience, teamwork is key.
How to play:
Aster Island is a roleplaying ‘game’- I use this word loosely, but it is a game in that you will be progressing with every mission you complete, earning experience that will, win you items, eventually allow you to evolve, and raise your rescue team’s ranking. It’s play at your own pace, only you really control how far you get! There are no penalties for missing missions or assignments, only rewards when you complete them. Just know that this is not an individual climb, this world is designed to let you meet someone potentially new or to force you to work with others. You see, each team is made up of two pokemon, you make one and the other will be randomly selected from other applications! Then, together, you will roleplay the mission (either through a 1w1 board or through pm) sending the roleplay to me once you finish. How you tell the story is open, the mission prompt will only give so many details, it is up to you to fill it in (because of this, no two teams will finish the mission the same way). You can also make your team advance by drawing art, writing stories, or roleplaying on the open world board! Everything you do will earn you experience in some way. The only way to win is to reach the highest rank, earning you a place on the hall of fame. Will you become the celebrity of the island? Or are you happy as a young explorer, a junior rescuer? Or do you prefer simply telling a story? No matter how you play there is a place for everyone here.
Rules:
1.) You may only have three characters. The first one must be given a randomly assigned partner. Your other two, if you chose to create them, may team up with other chosen players or friends. Please do not complain about who you are assigned with, this is meant to be a fun collaborative experience! If one of your characters reaches diamond rank you are allowed an extra character slot.
2.) Only two pokemon to a team- this may change in time. Either way there must be two roleplayers for every team, no more or less. You may not solely run a team.
3.) If your partner becomes inactive or quits you may request a new team- however availability of new members depends on how many are awaiting a team themselves. You will not lose your points but know your new member may need to catch up.
4.) When it comes to the world of Aster Island you can be as open and imaginative as you wish- there is only so much lore, so feel free to make up locations, characters, and events in your roleplays. You may also rp any NPC characters as you need.
5.) There is no obligation to complete a mission and no penalty if it is failed. As long as you roleplay it you will receive experience, even if your characters mess it up in some way. Your characters don’t have to be perfect to rise in rank. How you go about solving the missions is up to you- heroes aren’t necessarily so black and white, your character might even be competing for selfish gain, or going about it in a risky way… whatever it is, don’t feel the need to create cookie cutter ‘heroes’. Rogues, brutes, bleeding-hearts, villains even… they are all welcome here.
6.) On the topic of character design you may get creative with the design of your pokemon- you may make minor edits to color and proportion as long as they look like their species! Just please know this is not an anthro pokemon rp, do not humanize your ‘mons unless they are already as such (like jynx or mr.mine). You can do whatever you want with accessories or clothing however: cloaks, scarves, jackets, hats, whatever you’d like! Just be sure to describe it well in your form or even include a picture for reference. Shinies are allowed but are limited to one per person.
7.) For the sake of simplicity, pokemon do not have levels here- when you evolve or learn new moves is based on how many missions you complete. Your pokemon must start with moves they could only learn from birth to level 25, any moves learned later must be earned through training or completing missions. One egg move is permitted; same with oneTMs/HMs move. Your pokemon’s moveset may be changed after every mission.
8.) Mega evolutions are allowed but are limited to being used only once per mission and by one member at a time to avoid power playing (think of it as a last resort sort of deal). Your pokemon must earn their mega stone through ranking before they can use their mega forms.
9.) Items can be used but must first be earned through missions! You can record what items you've collected in your applications. But remember, when you win an item it's one per team, so you must decide which pokemon gets to use it.

How to Join:
1.) First things first, you need a character. You can have up to three different characters but I recommend starting with one to get use to the system and to make sure you’ll be an active member. You may start as any unevolved basic pokemon, just no legendaries. Your moves must be based on what your pokemon can learn leveling up till level 25, one egg move is allowed, along with oneTMs/HMs move. (I recommend looking up Serebii’s pokedex or even Bulbpedia to see what your pokemon can learn). Looks wise your character can stray from the norm pokemon designs, just nothing too extravagant! Please make sure your pokemon are recognizable as their species. Accessories are allowed; feel free to dress up your ‘mons. Once you got it figured out fill out the form, then Sage will assign you to your random partner! Yes: Random. You cannot be on a team with yourself. Your first character must be randomly assigned, however if you have friends you want to make teams with you may request so with your other two characters. 2.) Once you are assigned a partner I will send you a pm where you and your new partner can discuss a team name and get to know each other and their characters- you can even hold an introductory roleplay, whatever your style. Once that’s all figured out you are free to start questing together. Missions are posted once per month, there will be usually a few to choose from- which ones you take on are up to you!
