Cat's name: Palestar (previously -fire)
Gender: Female
Appearance:
A light grey, dappled tabby she-cat with sage green eyes and white spotting with a distinctive cloudy mark on the left of her face. She holds herself elegantly despite her smaller than average size. She has powerful limbs, and while it isn't always obvious under her smooth coat she is quite strong physically and has thicker muscles. Her tail almost always has a slight curl to it and swishes often out of habit.
Personality: {Relentless}{Dominate}{Unforgiving}{Hardened}{Hasty}
{Relentless} - Palestar is never one to give up easily, if anything she fights till her last limb is broken. It is this drive that has helped her clan survive every winter and this energy that keeps her going despite hardship. She can be extremely harsh on others as well, pushing them to be the best they can be, she only expects dedication from her warriors. Her stamina can be tiring to other cats, and her bossiness annoying, but it really is this stubbornness that fuels the clan.
{Dominate} - If the leader's word wasn't already law she would make it so. She does not accept back talk and is extremely controlling, making sure her clan respects and follows her. She can be a little hard on others, expecting so much of them, but while she is powerful she is still understanding. Just don't cross her path, she is shrewd and and observant in her age and not easy to forget mishaps.
{Unforgiving} - She does not forget, and rarely forgives. Palestar could hold a grudge to her grave and because of this she can hold anger for much too long, letting it bottle up inside before it escapes in a single explosion of rage. She can become sarcastic and rather nasty to those who have done her wrong, but anyone in her clan is spared this at least, she holds much more temperance for those of OakClan, looking at them as kits she must protect.
{Hardened} - She isn't the friendliness since the death of her mate and kits, nor has the stress of running a clan awakened her kithood chipperness. She isn't exactly bitter, but she sure is rougher now and hard to phase. Her experience allows her wisdom on many matters, but also may make her harder to approach due to the coldness she sometimes gives off.
{Hasty} - Despite her experience she can rush into things without enough thought, not always looking at all the details. This relates to her actual recklessness and adventure seeking side. She can't pass up an opportunity to better herself or her clan, and will dive head first into new experiences.
Rank?: Leader
Affiliates?: OakClan
History:
(Brief: Born to mother: Brookfoot. Rambunctious kit. given mentor: Nettlefang, became skilled fighter, named Palefire for her unpredictability and strength. Started a skirmish during a border patrol because of her aggression, demoted by leader: Lightstar. Met kind warrior, Raventail, fell in love and had kits. Learns patience and understanding from being a mother. Badgerpaw, one of her kits, is killed by a fox. Palefire and Raventail chase it alone, Raventail is killed. Palefire blacks out and learns she is the deputy, as the last one died fighting the fox. Accepts life without her mate and kit and moves on, becomes closer to her remaining family. Lightstar dies of a mysterious illness in winter, Palestar becomes leader.)
On a clear greenleaf night, Palestar was born to her mother Brookfoot, and lived a happy and carefree kit-life. She was bright and friendly, making friends rather easily among other kits and elders alike. Her likeable spunk made her the ringleader in a way and she often got in trouble for leading her siblings away from camp. As an apprentice she was given the wise Nettlefang, known for being equally good at fighting as hunting. However, Nettlefang was not the strictest cat and the ever dominate Palestar often got her way in training, focusing on fighting more so than hunting or other skills. Because of this, Palestar became a fierce fighter and would often prove this in play tournaments against the other apprentices, but couldn't be spared to catch a mouse. As a warrior she was given the name Palefire in recognition of her unpredictability, inner blaze, and strength.
She had everything to prove as a young cat and was known for her bossiness, demanding she partake in more patrols to prove herself. At the time, OakClan was in tension with a bordering clan and border patrols often came back slightly scarred. This was because with the coming winter, food was scarce, and OakClan being situated in the forest had more resources, tempting otherclanners to try their luck and hunt in the territory. It was one particular day that Palefire herself was leading a patrol and crossed paths with another clan's patrol. Tensions rose when she noticed one of the warriors carrying a rabbit, one she swore was of OakClan territory. While the other patrol tried to avoid a fight, their denial angered her and lead her to strike. This created a huge fight and led to the accidental maiming of a younger apprentice. When they returned the leader at the time, Lightstar, was furious and deemed Palefire unfit to lead. For moons she was treated more as an apprentice, but still she held the anger inside her.
As winter came the clan found itself in good standing. It was cold, and food was scarce, but they could survive on what they had. It was during this time Palefire met Raventail, a shyer older tom known to be quite docile. The two became good friends, with Palefire complaining and spilling her thoughts to the quiet warrior. He grew to teach her patient, a skill she desperately needed, along with humility. She saw a goodness in him that she wanted to replicate herself. Within a year, they were mates, and she was pregnant with his kits. In spring she bore Cloudkit, Softkit, Swiftkit, and Badgerkit and lived peacefully with them until their apprenticeship. As a mother she truly learned temperance, a quiet calmness in her as she found happiness in her family.
Two moons later Palefire was back on her regular warrior duties, out on a patrol with Raventail. When they returned they received tragic news that their youngest child, Badgerpaw, had been caught by a rouge fox. Overcome with both dread and anger, Palefire burst from the camp to follow the monster's trail. Raventail followed behind, at first using his own fear to try to convince his mate to wait for a warrior patrol to back them up. Disgusted by his cowardice she yelled at him and pushed on, with Raventail begrudgingly following. Finally she found the hovel of the fox's den, and was welcomed to a gory sight, one no mother should need witness. Her child has been utterly eaten, and upon seeing the remains emptied her stomach. Filled with the most violent rage she stormed into the den and fought the fox head on. Raventail joined in the fray, aware that Palefire was blinded with anger he did his best to protect her. It was at this moment he pushed her out of the way only to be picked up by the fox himself, it's teeth like daggers in his neck. Raventail was shaken like a limp doll, with Palefire doing everything she could to free him, biting and clawing as best she could- but no matter how she fought the fox was much too strong. Finally the tom was dropped, and to Palefire's horror did not move again. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she lashed at the fox, her family was falling around her and there was nothing she could do but fight. Her last sights were of a stream of warriors rushing in to fight the fox as she fell unconscious from her wounds.
She awoke in the medicine cat den and had been alerted that the fox had been chased off, but not before killing the then-deputy and wounding other warriors. Shocked but bewildered to be alive, Palefire was brought back to reality, a stone in her heart as she numbly remembered the death of her loved ones. But her thoughts were interrupted as Lightstar entered the den and, recognizing her relentlessness and courage, asked her to fulfill the empty deputy title. With a heavy heart but eyes looking forward, she accepted and became deputy. A year passed, and knowing Raventail and Badgerpaw were watching her from StarClan, she persisted. Eventually happiness bloomed in her life again as her remaining kits earned their warrior names, Cloudface, Softbreeze, and Swiftwing. The family grew close due to the loses, but stronger because of it.
One leaf-bare Lightstar became oddly sick, his age taking a toll as he lost his last life. It was shocking for the clan who didn't actually know the elder had had so few lives in the first place. With the winter winds so cold and the food so meager, moral was at an all time low. Palefire, now Palestar, couldn't stand so see the clan fall into somberness and kicked everything back into gear, quickly taking control again. With her high energy and drive the clan escaped the snowy moons with no deaths, a thankful season for a life so harsh in the wilderness. Today she is just as energetic and is the first to be the hardest on her warriors, driving them to be the best they can be. Sure she is bossy, and maybe a lil rough around the edges, but she leads her clan with a full heart.
