The River-dwellers of the Forest
Introduction (Rouge/Loner):

Rain drenched your coat of fur, making it stretch down towards your ankles. The mist ahead cloaked the incoming forest, which was nearly pitch-black with shadows. Storm clouds covered the moon, preventing light to enter the pine forest.
As you entered, you could feel the once moist and warm air become cold and chilling. Seeing anything in the darkness was hard, if not impossible, so you decided to perk your ears and keep your eyes wide to soak in any light and sound. A light gust ruffled your soaked fur, and luckily for you, the rain has slowed almost to a stop. The dirt path under you has pine needles, sticks, and round pebbles to trek over, which has slightly slowed your traveling's progress.
A crackle in the distance made you whirl around, but it turned out to be a dashing squirrel, so you continued on padding forward. Squeaks and chattering noises echoed throughout the flat forest floor, sometimes making you jump in surprise. The lack of overall plant life made you suspicious, and also very vulnerable, as anything can watch your every move from almost every direction. The only large obstacles were the giant looming pine trees, which cast eerie shadows on the ground around you.
At first, you thought this would be an easy trek to the mountains, but as you continued on, you realized how close it was to dawn. The past storm clouds have disappeared into the horizon, leaving only the thin white clouds streak across the sky. Now focusing more on traveling faster, you noticed a thick wall of thickets that had a thin hole as an entrance. It was pretty far from where you were, but as the light lightened the forest, you could make out some details. Branches were used on the outside of the wall, with sharpened edges to supposedly keep out danger. A river spanning a few fox-lengths ran through the middle of the wall, that had sparkling silver water and smooth rocks that acted as stepping stones. It piqued you interest, so you quickened your gait to see it as close as you could.
However, a screeching yowl made you halt in place. You felt confused and nervous; was it a cat? You looked around anxiously, trying to find out where the sound came from, but a growl nearby told you exactly where the yowl was from. You slowly turned you head to see a Maine-coon, twice your size, staring at you with a blank gaze.
You leapt back, not only in fear, but surprise. The cat only let out a slick, silent breath that created a tiny cloud of air in the frigid space between the both of you. It said nothing, and stood still like stone. After calming down, you began noticing it's silver-blue tabby coat, which had stark black stripes and white stockings on all four legs. But most intriguing of all; it's glazed eyes. The pupils were pale and lifeless, and they expressed no emotion. Their fur was lengthy, and it nearly reached the ground.
Cats slowly stalked from behind the pines, glaring at you non-stop. They observed your every move, yet they didn't move themselves. They looked like shadowy statues, with glowing eyes and muscled bodies.
