ShrubClan | Durable and Worldwise
About the Clan /
/ ShrubClan is made up of cats descended from a rogue group that formed in seasons past due to harsh ocnditions. The clan of shrub-cats became ShrubClan's finest warriors, even if they're rather modest of their survivability. They live amongst a large patch of scrub-territory, where small trails weave throughout heather and other varieties of native scrub. The Clan average is generally wiry and lean, with long legs built for running or skittering across hidden paths. Their pelts are usually short, so as not to leave much of a trail that a longer-furred cat might. Their more common proficiencies are tracking, hunting, and occasionally swiftness, though not all of these cats hold these (or any!) skills.
Their territory is a large heathland, surrounded by a good amount of barren land that stretches before a pine forest in any direction. Though the shrub-cats try to stick to their shrubbish area for the most part, they will occasionally trek to the forests for better prey and hunting - which bothers no-one, as no one lives around them for many, many tree-lengths.
A small creek run through their shrubbish home, splitting in half near the northernmost area and making its away to the south in a casual fashion. It's dry in the winter, but in the spring and summer, the snow in the mountains melts and brings more water. In times of dry-creek, they go to the forests, where some reliable pools of water can be found.
The weather is often overcast, bringing rain to the territory many days of the year. It's been known to snow in the deep lateness of leafbare.
Vital Information /
/ This Clan is traditional-based, so any cats that apply here must be traditionally named. My thread is a good place to go for traditional naming assistance, and I'm always open to a PM for private help (if that's your style).
Prefixes cannot repeat (i.e. a prefix can only be used once, so if there's a Holly- cat already, there can't be another). Suffixes, however, absolutely can.
Pointed (siamese-esque) cats, pure-bred cats, and genetically unrealistic cats (black w/ blue eyes, white w/ blue eyes and no deafness, torties/calicoes designated as male at birth, etc) are banned from this roleplay. All cats are/should be moggies (mixed breed, preferrably without pure-breed halfsies or anything of the sort).
Cats with folded ears, Manx tails, and Persian-esque muzzles are prohibited, as these are often linked to some genetic diseases!
Eye colors folow the standard: copper, amber, green, yellow, hazel, and amber. This generator is reliable for creating cats that are genetically possible! (Blue eyes are possible, though only on cats with a good amount of white on them; that said, if the cat's mostly white or fully white, anywhere from 80% to 100%, it'll have to be deaf, as that's extremely likely for that specific combination.)
Cats that are outside the gender binary (i.e. they don't identify as male/female) and/or aren't straight in orientation (i.e. ace/aro, pansexual, demisexual, etc) are always accepted. Please remember to add preferred pronouns if this is the case for your cat.
Photos are preferred, but written descriptions are just fine. If you need free-to-use images, try this blog.

Map /
1. Camp | The heart of the shrublands. This is a dip in the earth surrounded by a nearly impenetrable wall of shrubs. There is a log here that acts as the warrior's den; other dens are dug into the earth, supposedly by the ancestors of these cats. The leader stands atop the log when speaking to the Clan.
2. River Dusk | A river that splits in two near the north shrublands. Its left stream forks off into another river, Whiskerbend. The river disappears on the northern horizon.
3. Pawdrip Pond | A pond in the eastern forest. It has a small brook flowing from it that doesn't go very far. Medicine cats visit here under the light of the half-moon, and warriors are allowed to come here when troubled.
4. Night-sky Pond | A pond in the western forest. A river flows from here, just as Pawdrip does, though this one manages to go quite far.
5. Rivercrook Field | A section of shrubland that ends at the border and begins at the riverbend. It's somewhat marshy in some places.
The regions:
1. Shrubland | This pertains to all shrubland surrounding the river, localized in the center, near the split.
2. Sparseland | The open field between the shrubland and the pine forest. Some hardy grasses root here.
3. Forest / Pine Forest | The pine forest that surrounds the shrublands. Although there's no border to this Clan's territory, it's generally advised to stay away from the forest's easternmost and westernmost borders, and the 'border' is assumed to be the top of the hills all around. Cats rarely go that far, however, and stick to the very edges of the pine forest for the most part.
